After our slave positions class at CIPEX this weekend, we had a lovely couple come up and ask us “How do you keep it going? If you have jobs, active lives, to where you barely see each other during the day, how do you keep it going?”
We have that quite a bit, with jobs, families, responsibilities and now with travel. So here are some thoughts and some of the things we talked about with that couple.
Master Michael: I try to do something each day that reconnects us. Whether it’s a ritual, being in the moment during an interaction that has our M/s protocol involved, or even just a chat to where I address her specifically as “slave”, in some way, I try to have a moment where I can feel it. It’s important that I take the time to do these things. We have a structure where I’ll set up her priorities for the day, but if we’re traveling, or we’re not in our normal routine, then I try to make sure that I set something up to where we have that moment. It might not seem like much, but those threads can keep things going until we have more time together where we can reconnect and re-engage for a longer period of time.
slave angie: My favorite ways to help keep me grounded in my place as Master’s slave are my morning or evening mantras and our daily rituals. Mantras can be anything simple such as “i will do all my chores first” or spiritual to be appreciative and mindful of positive things throughout the day.
