The first day back from an event is always a bit rough, with event drop, trying to get back into things, dealing with family issues that invariably come up, thanks to some challenges that have arisen over the past couple of months.
One of the things that we’ve seen loud and clear has been how it takes a wonderful community to support a titleholder, and we are no different.
When O’Hare airport started canceling flights on Thursday to the South, our flight to Atlanta was one of them. Thanks to the kind lady at United Customer Service, we got a flight to Washington DC, and then an early flight to Atlanta which would allow us to arrive in the morning on Friday, as versus late evening if we flew out of Chicago. So I took it. I asked for help on Facebook to see if we could get some crash space. Within an hour, we had a place to go. Unfortunately, the flight was delayed too much so we ended up staying near the airport at a “cheap” (for DC) hotel so we could make our early flight and have a few hours sleep.
Today, with some of the family challenges we had, it fell to us to arrange for care for our granddaughter, with whom we share custody with. We again reached out to folks we know and trust within our chosen family and we’ve not only found wonderful care, but some great options for artistic day camps for her. It will be a wonderful experience for her and we are so grateful to our leather and kinky family for being there for us. It’s moments like these when I feel the least worthy of having all this, because of the generosity of people.
So… I’ll share with you a nice song that hopefully will make you smile much as we both are smiling inside and out right now.
