We had no idea what was in store for us. We just had a vision and a desire to step up and serve the M/s community and region. And now, one chapter closes so that someone else can open their own chapter.
What do we leave behind? What has our year been about? What do we leave behind?
I hope it’s a bigger awareness of the M/s community in the Great Lakes, of an example of an out and proud Master and slave living our dynamic in an honest and open away, not afraid to be who we are. I hope it’s a sense that our different and distinct M/s families, groups, MAsT chapters – we all share being part of a wonderful region with a great “get-to-work, get-to-play” attitude that we all seem to share.
I hope it’s that we’ve been able to share something of our journey, our lessons, our experiences that has helped others.
I hope that it’s that we’ve given back to the Great Lakes something that they are proud of – an International M/s title that is now part of their history.
We didn’t know if we’d be able to do any of these things, but we’ve tried. And, in some ways, I think we’ve done well.
I know that another chapter starts in our journey, and we have a wonderful journey still ahead to take us to March of next year when we finish with our International title year. The Great Lakes is our home and our family and I’m really curious where this next chapter takes us. I have plans, I have hopes…but as I’ve learned, that often doesn’t even give me the slightest clue of what the real story will be like.
